sustainable design for healthy living
TM
The scales are tipping and life as we know it is changing for us all.  No longer are we able to ignore the consequences
of our decisions.  No longer can we ignore the undeniable truth that design and construction practices for at least a
century have had a negative impact on our socio, economic and environmental systems, collectively known as the
triple bottom line.  With every new project or development that arises from the earth, be it a humble thatched hut or an
entire new town, there is a consequence to the health of these three systems.

Moran Architects understands the relationship between the built environment and the triple bottom line.  We know the
impact our choices of site orientation, engineering systems, and materials and finishes to name a few, have made on
these environments.  This consciousness has led us to seek out like-minded collaborators to develop new solutions to
designing buildings that not only help to sustain a healthy existence but to enhance it.

Moran Architects employs an
integrative design process that inspires and celebrates interdisciplinary
collaboration while seeking creative solutions that respects the uniqueness of the project’s place.  With each new
project, we strive to reduce or when possible, eliminate its carbon footprint.  What’s more, we seek to devise regenerative
design solutions—solutions that work within the existing ecosystem and create more energy, more clean water and more
habitat than previously existed.  We develop holistic solutions that better the environment, the lives of the community
and your bottom line.

Moran Architects is also committed to the
Architecture 2030 Challenge.  Architecture 2030 is a non-profit,
non-partisan and independent organization, established in response to the global climate change crisis.
The 2030 Challenge asks the international architecture and building community to create design solutions that
reduce fossil fuel emissions with specific, measurable, aggressive targets.  Our commitment is to immediately reduce

all carbon emissions by 50% and by 2030, all of our new buildings will be carbon neutral.

Albert Einstein once said, “Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them.”  Our guiding
principle is Sustainable Design for Healthy Living    because we believe that we can make a positive impact today that
ensures a better future for the lives of tomorrow.
